Survivor: Tikal is the tenth season of Bennett's Survivor series. It began on May 28th, 2017 and ended on June 14, 2017. This was the last season since Yangudi Rassa to begin with more than two tribes. It is also currently tied with Yangudi Rassa for the season with the most new castaways. After 18 days, jakehou97 was titled Sole Survivor, winning in a 4-3 vote against Brittney. At the reunion, Brittney was honored with the "Player of the Season" award.
Production[]
Survivor: Tikal began with eighteen castaways who were all new to the series. They were divided into three tribes of six: Ac Yanto (in green), Kabrakan (in blue), and Chac (in pink). They were named after Mayan gods.
Twists[]
- Merger Idols: Similar to the hidden immunity idol, one merger idol is hidden at each tribe camp at the beginning of the game. When played, the merger idol has the ability to decimate the existence of a tribe, therefore forcing a reshuffle. When a merger idol is played at three tribes, one tribe will dissolve, and all castaways will be randomly shuffled into the two remaining tribes. When a merger idol is played at two tribes, a merge will be forced. Merger idols are to be used before an immunity challenge, not before tribal council. Also, if any merger idols are still in possession by the merge, they will be reimbursed with a regular hidden immunity idol.
- The Bald Man: The bald man was a man who made multiple brief appearances throughout the duration of the game. His antics caused a strike of paranoia, although he had no legitimate impact.
